The short version
MyEligible is a free tool that gives you estimates of Canadian benefits you may qualify for. The estimates are not guarantees. Always confirm with the relevant government agency before making decisions. Use the site at your own risk; we provide it as-is. Don't use it to break the law or harm others.
Who we are
MyEligible is a project operated from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Throughout these terms, "we," "us," and "MyEligible" refer to the project's operators. "You" refers to anyone using the site at myeligible.ca.
What MyEligible is and is not
MyEligible is: An informational tool that uses publicly available rules from the Government of Canada, provincial and territorial governments, and municipal governments where programs are modeled to estimate which benefits you may qualify for, what they may be worth, and how to apply. It is built to help newcomers, low-income households, and anyone curious about Canadian benefits navigate a complex system more easily.
MyEligible is not: a government website, a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) service, an immigration service, a tax preparation service, a financial planning service, or a legal service. We are not affiliated with the Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, IRCC, any provincial or territorial government, any municipal government, or any settlement agency. Government logos and program names are used only to identify the programs being described.
Estimates, not guarantees
Every dollar amount, eligibility verdict, and deadline shown on MyEligible is an estimate based on the information you provide and our understanding of program rules at the time of last verification (shown on the sources page).
Government program rules change frequently. Eligibility determinations are made by government agencies, not by us. The estimates may be wrong. They may be out of date. They may misinterpret an edge case in your situation. Always confirm with the relevant government agency before relying on a benefit estimate for any decision, including, but not limited to, decisions about employment, housing, immigration, or finances.
We do not file applications for you. The "How to apply" links direct you to official government forms and portals. The application, the documents, and the relationship are entirely between you and that government agency.
Not legal, financial, immigration, or tax advice
Nothing on MyEligible is legal advice, financial advice, immigration advice, or tax advice. Information about eligibility, application procedures, or program rules should not substitute for advice from a qualified professional (a lawyer, immigration consultant, accountant, or licensed financial advisor) or from the relevant government agency.
If you need professional help, low-cost and free options exist: Legal Aid Ontario, community legal clinics, IRCC-funded settlement agencies, and tax clinics through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).
