Transitioning program
Saskatchewan Rental Housing Supplement (SRHS)
Saskatchewan is winding down the Rental Housing Supplement (SRHS) by August 31, 2026. Existing recipients continue receiving monthly benefits until the transition completes.
What is changing
Almost eight years after closing to new applications, SRHS benefits will transition to other Saskatchewan ministry programs by August 31, 2026. Saskatchewan says SRHS clients will continue receiving monthly benefits as normal until administration winds down.
If you receive SAID or SIS
Saskatchewan states that SRHS recipients who also receive Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) or Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS) will have their SRHS benefit incorporated into their regular monthly SAID or SIS payment.
If you do not receive SAID or SIS
Saskatchewan says SRHS recipients who are not receiving other income assistance may be supported to apply for the Saskatchewan Housing Benefit (SHB), which helps eligible renters with rent and utility costs, and the Saskatchewan Employment Incentive (SEI) for working families with children and low incomes.
