How we check our information

This page describes the checks MyEligible schedules for people in Canada.

How we keep MyEligible up to date

We regularly check the information, links, calculations, and tools people rely on. These checks help us find problems, but they do not guarantee that every answer is correct or current.

What we schedule

  • What we check

    Changes to government information

    Schedule

Daily link checks; weekly content comparisons

    Why it matters

Checks selected official pages for links that have moved or stopped opening, and compares the details we track. This is not every government page.

  • What we check

    Public drug coverage

    Schedule

    Twice weekly

    Why it matters

Checks selected official drug coverage sources. Not every drug or identification number is covered.

  • What we check

    Official government links

    Schedule

    Weekly

    Why it matters

Finds broken or outdated links. A working link does not guarantee accurate information.

  • What we check

    Benefit amounts and calculations

    Schedule

Every two weeks, and when calculation rules change

    Why it matters

Tests our calculations, not the law or the policy.

  • What we check

    Canada Child Benefit information

    Schedule

    Monthly

    Why it matters

Compares the official Canada Child Benefit page with what we publish. Any difference is reviewed before we update.

  • What we check

    Quiz and results

    Schedule

    Hourly, and after site updates

    Why it matters

Checks that the benefits finder works from start to finish. It does not verify individual eligibility.

  • What we check

    Problems reported by visitors

    Schedule

    When a report is received

    Why it matters

Looks into reports that information may be wrong, outdated, or confusing. No reply time is promised.

About these schedules: These are planned checks, not a record of completed reviews. A successful automated check does not replace verification against official government information. When we identify a possible error, we review it before making changes. When a check finds a problem, we log it for review.

What happens when information changes

A change is not always found the same day. When we find one, this is what we do.

  1. We notice something has changed

A check, a comparison, or a report can bring a possible change to our attention.

  2. We check the official information

We look at the official source before we treat a change as confirmed.

  3. We update and test where appropriate

Changes that could affect benefits, coverage, deadlines, or next steps get an additional review. They are never published automatically.

  4. We acknowledge what remains uncertain

When we cannot confirm something, we aim to say so.

When something doesn't look right

If you find information that appears incorrect, outdated, or confusing, please tell us. Reports help us investigate problems and improve MyEligible. We take possible errors seriously, especially when they could affect someone's benefits, coverage, deadlines, or next steps.
