Income for this reference period

Basic Income uses a July 1–June 30 reference period. For this estimate, use your 2025 Québec income tax information (line 275 net income).

Find this on line 275 of your Québec income tax return for the tax year shown above.

Regulation art. 177.79 adds back certain RRSP contributions deducted on your return. Leave blank if none apply.

Arts. 177.79(2.1) and 177.80(3) add back amounts paid into a tax-free first home savings account (CELIAPP). Leave blank if none apply.

The Canada Disability Benefit is excluded from the annual income calculation under current Québec rules.

Canada Disability Benefit

The Canada Disability Benefit is excluded from the annual income calculation used here under the current Québec Basic Income rules.

Savings and property

Cash, chequing/savings, accessible term deposits, readily marketable securities. Some amounts are excluded. Excess above $20,000 reduces the following month's payment dollar for dollar.

Enter property Québec would count after exclusions (for example, your principal residence is excluded). Property rules can be complex; this estimate assumes the amount you enter is correct after applicable exclusions.

Some income types affect the current month's Basic Income separately from the annual tax-return calculation.

2026 Québec Basic Income amounts

The published base benefit is $1,336 per month ($16,032 per year). An adult without a spouse may receive a $371 monthly adjustment. Minor dependants add $22 per month; qualifying adult students add $381 per month. Amounts are indexed annually.

How income affects Basic Income

The program uses a July–June reference period based on the prior calendar year's Québec tax return. Recipient income above $16,032 is reduced at 55% annually (divided by 12 monthly). A spouse's income above $30,881 is reduced at 30%, not 55%.

Savings and property

Liquid assets above $20,000 reduce the following month's payment dollar for dollar. Countable property above $500,000 is reduced at 15% annually (divided by 12). Your principal residence is excluded from property.

What this calculator does not determine

Admission screening, special benefits, complex property exclusions, false-declaration recovery, and discretionary reassessments are outside this tool. RRSP and FHSA add-backs follow arts. 177.79–177.80 when you enter them. It does not replace Québec's official SimulAide screening.
