How work income is treated
Programme de solidarité sociale (PSS)
Work income is considered monthly. Published authorized amounts are about $200 for one adult and $300 for a couple. Income above that can reduce the prestation dollar for dollar; a 25 % supplement aux revenus de travail may apply when at least $1 in prestation remains. Québec determines your actual payment.
Programme de revenu de base (PRB)
PRB uses an annual exclusion of about $16,032 on work income. Amounts above it can reduce a future reference period at about 55 % of the excess, using Québec tax-return information. That is why this tool separates this year from later.
